Mental Health Technician InstructorThe Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part-time, non-credit instructors to teach the following course:Mental Health TechnicianImportant: Please note that a non-credit instructor is not an adjunct position. Successful candidates teach courses in the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department.Primary Responsibilities: The ability to teach 120 hours (3 days a week for 3 hours in hybrid format), which includes the following subject areas:Psychological Development at all Life StagesDisease Characteristics, Signs, and SymptomsTreatment and Intervention modalitiesSkills: assisting with daily living; attending to patient behavior problems; assistance in crisis intervention; group facilitation; patient education; recreational activities; personal hygiene; vital signsEthical Conduct, Patient Rights, and Cultural CompetencyPreparing student for industry certification examMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentCurrent registration as a NJ Licensed Registered NursePrevious teaching experienceExperience teaching adult learnersThree (3) years of experience working in the Mental Health fieldAbility to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth AmboyAbility to teach in both in-person and virtual formatsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's DegreeExperience teaching in higher educationMental Health First Aid Instructor CertificationFive (5) years of experience as In-patient mental health nurseSupplemental Information: Please include day, evening and/or Saturday availability in your application.WDLL is current seeking a Mental Health Technician instructor to teach in person, days at the Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy campuses.
