Performance Responsibilities Assists the School Nurse to ensure a healthy school environment Provides staff and student education related to health promotion, disease prevention and chronic diseases Serves as a resource for students, staff and parents regarding health issues Receives written, verbal, telephone, fax, electronic and /or emailed orders for student care from a licensed health care provider/prescriber, with communication to the certified school nurse responsible for the overall care of the student Contributes to the nursing assessment by collecting, reporting and recording objective and subjective data, including health screenings, in an accurate and timely manner to the certified school nurse Monitors basic patient health such as vital signs and overall condition Provides specialized health care procedures including changing dressings, inserting catheters, suctioning of tracheostomy, naso-gastric tube feeding or gastrostomy tube feeding, administer insulin by injection, pump device or other method Takes patient histories and maintains documentation Assisting with tests or procedures Maintains confidential information in compliance with all county, state and FERPA guidelines Performance Standards Maintains positive work habits Performs duties efficiently and productively Maintains and improves skills IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal SALARY: Salary Scale F TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 200-day contract Position Type: Substitute Contact Information Jeromy Duelley, Asst.
