Job Summary

We are a fast-growing business seeking an experienced, strategic Senior Program Manager to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and drive successful execution across the organization. The ideal candidate is an energetic, self-driven leader with exceptional program management, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, capable of aligning teams, managing priorities and risks, and delivering measurable business results.

The ideal candidate will manage multiple simultaneous programs with the daily execution of contract requirements to assure cost, schedule and performance goals are met. Lead execution of programs with internal stakeholders (from kick-off through conclusion of program), owning overall program success. Ensure professional company representation externally and customer advocacy internally. Assure optimized prioritization, communications and coordination for all matters pertaining to both existing contracts and new bid and proposal activities. Formally identify, assess, monitor and mitigate risk throughout the program life cycle.

The ideal candidate will work closely with Engineering, Production, Planning, Quality, Field Service and other operations functions. Efforts may encompass product deliveries, integration solution development, build deliveries, global sustainment support, and rapidly changing priorities based on customer needs. Oversee a loosely matrixed team to plan, track and execute project plans from start to completion using specific technical knowledge. Provides timely resolution to a diverse range of complex problems. Uses judgement within defined policies and practices.

What You'll Do:

• Participate as a team member or leader on bid and proposal activities for existing customers. Ensure proposals are responsive, accurate, and accurately align customer needs with company capability.

• Represent program management at internal and external program reviews, meetings, seminars, etc.

• Prepare for and participate in contract/subcontract negotiations. While representing Company’s interests, assure that all government regulatory guidance is adhered to

• Allocate and control contract budgets for labor, material, travel and purchased services. Regularly report program status to senior management

• Formally identify, assess, monitor and mitigate risk throughout the program life cycle. Ensure management awareness of key risks and opportunities; elevate and garner approvals as necessary prior to implementing decisions that detriment established program, cost and schedule objectives.

• Ensure the overall execution of material on schedule and on budget for a business area

• Adapt to constant change and ensure consistent delivery team and leadership alignment

• Ensure requirements and deadlines for deliverables are accurately coordinated and tracked, including engineering changes and baseline configurations

What You'll Do Continued:

• Notify and seek senior management assistance in resolving schedule and budget problems as they arise. Develop and implement corrective action plans when deviations from budgets and/or schedules are evident

• Provide leadership to matrixed program or project teams. Assures communication and cooperation among team members and resolves areas of conflict

• Ensure a timely closeout of completed programs to ensure that all obligations are satisfied and program documentation is properly recorded

• Understand and develop leading verses lagging indicators

• Develop and execute corrective action strategies

• May partner with various stakeholders on planning process and system improvements

• Develop and understand principles of program planning. Broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other related fields

• Develop and understand cash flow management principles

• Develop and understand principles of program planning. Work directly with master schedulers and material planning to ensure team and company alignment on requirements, risks and impacts of change.

• Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

What You'll Bring:

• 7+ years relevent experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain or Business degree may be preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience depending upon the job discipline
• Knowledge of program management tools and procedures
• Solid leadership and management skills
• Experience throughout the program lifecycle from development through sustainment to include: proposal development, requirements decomposition, generation of system and subsystem statements of work and subcontracts, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts including implementation cost reduction and performance improvement efforts
• Experience with earned value cost accounting and reporting; experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity and variance analysis
• Experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, logistics, manufacturing and supply chain management
• Solid problem solving skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Experience with managing manpower planning, project reviews, scheduling and budget control
• Ability to manage aerospace/defense programs as a prime or subcontractor to a domestic or foreign military organization
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Program Management certification preferred (i.e. PMP or DAU)

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

The salary range for this position is $119,940.00/year-$161,919.00/year. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
