Lead Data Product Owner - Customer

About The Role We are seeking a Lead Data Product Owner to own and advance a portfolio of data products serving the Customer domain — Customer Success, Support and Product — with customer data products also serving Sales. This person is accountable for the reliability, value and data maturity of the domain's core data assets — ensuring that what gets built is trusted, actively used and continuously improving. Alongside the Data Product Manager, this person co-owns the Customer domain data product strategy and stakeholder relationships. The Data Product Owner brings independent product judgment to both sides of the work — strategically guiding Customer Success, Support and Product stakeholders in how to think about and articulate their data needs and guiding the analytics engineering team on what to build and how to design it. They actively shape and draft requirements rather than simply collecting and translating them and they independently lead the projects that deliver them. A core requirement of this role is the ability to influence how things get done — earning the trust of business leaders and the respect of technical teams in equal measure. A demonstrated track record of working in a strategic product ownership capacity is a must; Customer, product and GTM domain knowledge is strongly preferred. What You'll Do Own a portfolio of Customer domain data products end to end — reliability, value, adoption Independently lead the projects that advance the domain's data maturity, from problem definition to adoption Shape the Customer data product roadmap, prioritizing by adoption and business value Technical Guidance & Product Design Collaborate with the GTM analytics engineering squad, influencing what to build and how to design it Shape data mart architecture, metric definitions and reporting requirements, navigating design tradeoffs Define requirements for reliable data flows, including metric consistency and lineage across shared GTM assets Stakeholder Strategy & Requirements Partner with Customer Success, Support and Product leaders to shape and draft requirements, not just take orders Drive alignment on business and data definitions, and translate business problems into buildable requirements Ensure data products and their outputs are consumable by Sales Quality, Governance & Adoption Oversee data quality, SLAs and governance, including customer-data privacy/PII handling where relevant Drive discoverability and data literacy; align with peer data product owners across G&A and GTM This is a remote eligible position. Candidates who live within a 45 mile radius of Boston, MA; Detroit, MI; and Denver, CO will be required to work hybrid (2 days per week) out of our Dyntrace office. Candidates are required to work EST hours for this position. What will help you succeed 6+ years in data product management, analytics, BI or data management Bachelor's in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related field Preferred Requirements Customer/GTM domain expertise strongly preferred (customer health, support operations, product usage/telemetry, renewal/churn); fast domain ramp considered Exceptional ability to bridge technical and business communication — a core competency for this role Track record of influencing outcomes with engineers and business leaders Experience shaping and drafting requirements and leading projects amid conflicting priorities Strong grasp of data modeling, pipelines, data quality, governance and BI tooling; SQL Snowflake, dbt, Power BI or comparable platforms Customer success platforms (Gainsight, Totango or similar) Support/ticketing systems (Salesforce Service Cloud, Zendesk or similar) Product analytics tools (Pendo, Amplitude or similar) SaaS/B2B customer metrics — NRR, GRR, churn, expansion, customer health scores Product usage and consumption data — telemetry, feature adoption, license utilization Agile/Scrum and JIRA Why you will love being a Dynatracer A one-product software company creating real value for the largest enterprises and millions of end customers globally, striving for a world where software works perfectly.
