CDL Driver

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Driver to transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites and yards. This role plays a critical part in supporting construction operations by ensuring timely and secure deliveries. The ideal candidate has a valid CDL license, a clean driving record, and experience operating commercial vehicles in construction or similar environments. Key Responsibilities Safely operate commercial vehicles (e.g., dump truck, flatbed, lowboy, or trailer) to transport materials and equipment Load and unload trucks using proper methods to prevent shifting, damage, or injury Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and DOT compliance Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage reports, and trip documentation Follow delivery schedules, GPS directions, and instructions from dispatch or supervisors Secure loads using chains, binders, tarps, or straps as needed Comply with all DOT, state, and federal transportation regulations Assist crews with labor or site tasks when deliveries are complete (as needed) Report any mechanical issues, delays, or safety concerns promptly Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned vehicle Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Valid Class A or B CDL (depending on vehicle type) Clean driving record and current DOT medical card 2+ years of commercial driving experience preferred Experience hauling construction materials or equipment is a plus Familiarity with load securement, tie‑down procedures, and safe operating practices Ability to lift 50+ lbs and assist with loading/unloading when required Strong communication and time management skills Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed Physical Requirements (Each to have one of the following based on the position: Never, Rarely, Occasionally, Constantly) Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods: Constantly Moving about to accomplish tasks at a worksite or moving from one worksite to another: Constantly Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, such as stooping, kneeling, or crouching: Constantly Adjusting, moving and lifting objects in all directions: Constantly Talking and hearing to communicate with others: Constantly Seeing to perform job duties at close range, such as monitors or screens: Rarely Seeing to perform job duties at a distance, such as driving or operating equipment: Occasionally Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers: Constantly Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like: Occasionally Operating machinery and/or power tools: Constantly Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment: Constantly The ability to travel regionally or nationally: Never Physical Demands Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing: Constantly Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds: Constantly Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds: Constantly Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more: Occasionally Working Conditions Low temperatures: Occasionally High temperatures: Occasionally Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind: Occasionally Noisy environments: Occasionally Hazardous conditions: Rarely Shift work, to include overnight work: Occasionally Frequent overtime, including weekends: Occasionally Office environment: Rarely Benefits Pave America and its companies offers a comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive set of health, financial and other benefits that support your total well-being.
