Are you a detail-oriented craftsman who takes pride in precision work? We are seeking an Aerospace Torch and Induction Braze Operator to join our Solder/Braze Department. In this critical role, you will perform high-quality torch and induction brazing to join wire mesh, fittings, and dissimilar metals used in complex aerospace filter assemblies.

Because safety and quality are paramount in aerospace manufacturing, this role requires unwavering attention to detail , exceptional steady hand-eye coordination, and a dedication to meeting strict customer standards and industry regulations. We provide a structured three-phase training program to help you become a certified Qualified Brazer.

To excel in this role, you will rely heavily on:

  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: Precise flame control, accurate reading of braze schedules, careful application of barriers, and thorough in-process quality audits.

  • Fine Motor Skills & Dexterity: Steady hands to manipulate fine wire mesh, screens, and small fittings without compromising structural integrity.

  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to interpret technical documents, adapt to complex metal properties (e.g., Monel, dissimilar metals), and run precision equipment like Lepel induction systems.

  • Quality & Safety Mindset: Commitment to adhering strictly to quality standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform precise torch and induction brazing on aerospace filter components in compliance with customer specifications.

  • Join dissimilar metals, including delicate wire mesh, screens-to-screens, screens-to-fittings/flanges, and materials like Monel.

  • Independently set up jobs, read and interpret braze schedules, write schedules, and perform detailed in-process quality audits.

  • Operate torches and induction systems.

  • Maintain an organized, safe work area following safety protocols.

  • Participate in and pass a structured 3-Phase Training Program to earn your qualification.

Qualifications & Key Skills

Basic Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Math Skills: Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, units of measure).

  • Vision Requirements: Ability to pass an initial and annual eye exam (corrected or uncorrected) and a color vision test to distinguish fine details and colors essential for brazing quality.

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods (up to 10 hours), lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and work in warm shop environments while wearing standard PPE.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience in brazing, welding, precision metal, or jewelry assembly.

  • Completion of a technical certification in welding or brazing is a plus.

  • Familiarity with flame types, re-braze loops, silver braze reflow, and induction systems.

  • Prior exposure to quality standards like NADCAP or AS9100 Standards.
