Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Inpatient Rehab (Part-Time)

Overview Sentara Health is currently hiring for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at Virginia Beach General Hospital on the Rehabilitation Unit. City: Virginia Beach, VA Work Shift: Third (Nights) (PT - Nights) About the Unit Inpatient Rehab (IPR) is an 8‑bed unit specializing in providing patients additional rehabilitation needs for 2-3 weeks when they are not independent enough to go home but do not require a skilled nursing facility. We work closely with the physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy teams while providing care to these patients. We become familiar with our patients and their routines over this longer stay, watching them progress to going home, which is rewarding for nurses. The patient population includes but is not limited to stroke, spinal cord injury, patients that required amputation or other orthopedic patients that require more therapy after being medically cleared from the hospital. We have one physician who oversees and runs the IPR unit. Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in the clinical setting, within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to handle physically demanding tasks. The LPN is an essential member of the healthcare team offering patient care and supporting higher level nurse and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services. Experienced LPN preferred. Rehab experience highly desirable.
