Principal Bioinformatics Scientist

Veracyte seeks a Principal Bioinformatics Scientist to lead the development of next-generation minimal residual disease tests using NGS technology. This senior technical role encompasses assay design, analytical validation, and cross-functional collaboration under CAP/CLIA quality systems for oncology diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Lead bioinformatics strategy for MRD assay design, optimization, and lifecycle management under CAP/CLIA standards
- Design and execute analytical studies to evaluate assay performance, accuracy, and reproducibility
- Develop, validate, and maintain production-ready bioinformatics pipelines for MRD analysis and reporting
- Partner with molecular biology, clinical, QA, and software teams to align solutions with regulatory and operational requirements
Requirements
- Deep expertise in NGS-based oncology assays and ctDNA biology
- Proven track record of industry assay development under design control
- Strong understanding of cancer genomics and variant detection strategies
- Experience with CAP/CLIA quality systems and regulatory compliance (FDA, IVDR)
- Demonstrated leadership in bioinformatics pipeline development and validation
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and assay performance characterization
