divh2Finance Team Role/h2pThis role is part of the Finance team in Chicago and will be supporting both GAAP reporting and Statutory reporting. The main focus will be on accounting and reporting for the non-technical results and investment accounting. The level of this position is dependent on the knowledge and experience of the individual in both accounting and the insurance industry./ph3Responsibilities/h3ulliResponsible for reviewing non-technical journal entries and bank reconciliations./liliPrepare monthly file for corporate team in London for submissions of technical and non-technical items./liliCollaborate with FPA team to ensure alignment of financial records with budgets/liliPrepares and reconciles investment activity from Clearwater Analytics and custodian bank statements/liliPrepares financial analysis of all non-technical balance sheet and income statement accounts on a monthly basis and brings errors to the attention of the accounting manager./liliResponsible for preparing the statutory main financial statement pages, investment pages and notes./liliAssisting in coordinating audit requests and PBC schedules./liliResponsible for understanding and interpreting current and new GAAP/IFRS/STAT pronouncements and how they may differ/liliWork with Actuarial on IBNR and loss reporting/li/ulpOther/pulliResponsible for various ad hoc requests/liliAssisting with other responsibilities as assigned./liliVarious projects as assigned./li/ulpSkills and experience/pulliBachelors or Masters degree in Accounting preferred, CPA is desirable but not required/liliInsurance experience/lili4-6 years minimum of Accounting professional work experience/liliProficient in Microsoft Office packages to an intermediate level for Excel/liliExperience with statutory reporting software/liliProactive approach to work able to demonstrate initiative, flexibility, adaptability, efficiency, accuracy and thoroughness/liliAbility to interact and communicate at all levels both within and outside the organization/liliUnderstanding of other team members deadlines and ability to meet own/liliSelf-motivated and enthusiastic team player/liliGood organizational skills/liliBusiness Process Improvement/liliChange Management/liliControl Assurance/liliData Management/liliDocumentation Records Management/liliFinancial Analytics Forecasting/liliInsurance Industry Expertise/liliProject/Programme Management/liliRegulatory Compliance/liliStakeholder Management/liliSystems Management/liliFinancial Systems Technical Architecture/liliGeneral Ledger Accounting Reconciliation/liliProcess Standardization Automation/liliRisk Management/liliTax Accounting Principles and Standards/liliTax Financial Accounting/liliTax Financial Reporting/liliTax Planning Strategy/li/ulpSalary Range: $70,000 - $82,000/p/div
