Their day to day responsibilities will include:Operating and managing network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, and transmission media.Configuring and optimizing network hubs, routers, and switches.Developing and implementing network backup and recovery procedures.Diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues.Installing and maintaining network infrastructure device operating system software.Monitoring network capacity and performance.Patching network vulnerabilities to safeguard information.Testing and maintaining network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.Implementing and testing network infrastructure contingency and recovery plans.Establishing and maintaining network security practices.Analyzing network traffic capacity and performance characteristics.Developing and validating network security measures.Preparing and maintaining documentation of network configurations and changes.
