Marketing Communications Specialist

Description

Buena Vista University is seeking a motivated and creative Marketing Communications Specialist to join our University Marketing and Communications team. This position plays a key role in promoting the university's mission, programs, and campus experiences through compelling storytelling, visual content, and integrated marketing strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with the University Marketing and Communications team to create and deliver effective marketing campaigns and promotions based on university goals.
• Gathers and drafts content in the form of marketing copy, press releases, photos, and videos for various marketing channels, including web, print, and digital.
• Shoot and edit high-quality campus photography and videography to capture student life, events, and academic programs.
• Assists with the development of email communications, university newsletters, and marketing campaigns.
• Updates the university website text and content as needed, including the event calendar, program pages, etc.
• Ensures consistent brand voice in all marketing content efforts.
• Designs and creates graphic content for marketing materials, including brochures, advertisements, and other promotional items, ensuring they align with the university's branding standards.
• Collaborates with multiple teams and departments on campus, as well as with students and alumni.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
• Marketing-related experience in content creation, writing, and web.
• Experience in graphic design and general web updates.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and collaborative working style.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize projects
