Department/Division Specifics Division size: 16 faculty (3 General Nephrology, 1 Interventional Nephrology, 1 Onco‑Nephrologist, 2 Transplant Nephrology, 5 Private Practice, 4 Research) 1 Advanced Practice Provider 6 General Nephrology Fellowship positions (3 fellows per year – all positions filled for incoming class) Collaboration with multiple service lines (Heart and Vascular, Cancer, Transplant) and other subspecialties (critical care, endocrinology, general internal medicine, geriatric medicine, hospital medicine, interventional radiology, obstetrics, rheumatology, palliative care, surgery) U.S. News & World Report: Rush University Medical Center is rated high performing in kidney failure Responsibilities Support outpatient nephrology services on a per diem basis. Scheduling is based on departmental needs and physician availability, with no guaranteed minimum hours. Provide broad clinical nephrology skills, including care of dialysis patients, outpatient general nephrology, and post‑transplant patients with chronic kidney disease. Educate and mentor nephrology fellows, house officers, and medical students. Requirements Strong written and verbal communication skills, evidence of excellence in nephrology clinical practice. Familiarity with the EPIC electronic health record. Board certified in Nephrology and completed an ACGME accredited fellowship in Nephrology. Highest standards of professionalism and collegiality. Active Illinois medical license or eligibility to obtain one. Pay Range: $115.00 – $130.00 per hour Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
