As the primary investment area within Goldman Sachs, we provide investment and advisory services for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors and individuals.Business OverviewXIG provides clients with investment and advisory solutions, across leading hedge fund managers, private credit funds, private equity funds, real estate managers, public equity strategies, fixed income strategies and ESG (impact) strategies across all asset classes. XIG manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios and a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, co-investments, secondary-market investments and seed-capital investments. With over 400 professionals across 13 offices around the world, XIG provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs market insights and risk management expertise. We are focused on diversity of thought and have team members with a wide range of backgrounds and professional experiences.ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and conduct due diligence on private equity funds pursuing buyout, growth equity and venture capital strategiesPresent investment opportunities to the investment committee through written and oral presentations, and conduct required follow-upAssist in developing views on the private equity manager landscape and investment themesCoordinate the execution of investments, including working closely with internal (e.g., internal counsel, compliance) and external parties (e.g., private equity managers, external counsel)Monitor the performance and risk profile of existing portfolio investmentsQualificationsMinimum of three years of experience in corporate finance, M&A, leverage finance, private equity or other private or public markets investingInvesting mindset, ability to think independently about an investment, understanding of portfolio constructionStrong financial modelling, corporate valuation and accounting skills, and familiarity with private equityAbility to self-direct, analyze and evaluate and form independent judgmentsResourceful approach to problem-solvingExcellent communication and writing skillsOutstanding record of professional and academic achievementAbout Goldman SachsAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
