Pre-Press Operator | PrideStaff

Location: Alvin, TX

Pay Rate: $16.00 – $18.00/hour (DOE)

Job Summary

PrideStaff is seeking a detail-oriented  Pre-Press Operator for a dynamic printing facility in Alvin, TX. This role is the "bridge" between design and production. You will be responsible for "file prepping" - ensuring that digital files are perfectly configured, nested, and processed to produce high-quality physical prints and routed materials.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is tech-savvy and looking to grow within the print and sign industry.

Core Responsibilities

• File Preparation: Set up and optimize new and existing digital files for production.
• Software Management: Run files through nesting software to maximize material efficiency and utilize  RIP software (Asanti, Onyx, etc.) to prepare jobs for output.
• Production Workflow: Deliver finalized files directly to large-format printers and CNC routers.
• Equipment Operation: Learn to operate a vinyl plotter for custom cutouts.
• Cross-Department Support: Assist the screen printing department by setting up specialized files for their production needs.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Computer Literacy: You must be highly comfortable navigating various software programs and file management systems.
• Detail-Oriented: Precision is key in pre-press to avoid material waste and printing errors.
• Adaptability: A willingness to learn new hardware, such as vinyl plotters and various large-format machinery.

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

• Software Knowledge: Familiarity with  Adobe Illustrator or RIP software (Asanti, Onyx, etc.) is a major plus.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience in a print shop or "file prepping" environment.
• Education: A degree in Graphic Design is helpful but  not required.
