Field Sales Representative City Launcher, Merchant Success & Community

Location: Remote Portland, OR Travel: Local field travel required, primarily within approximately 100 miles of the assigned market Duration: 6 Months (Potential Extension)

Position Summary

• We are seeking a Field Sales Representative / City Launcher to drive merchant adoption, onboarding, education, and long-term engagement across assigned launch markets.
• This is a highly field-based, customer-facing role requiring frequent face-to-face interaction with restaurant owners, managers, and local business teams.
• The successful candidate will build strong merchant relationships, lead onboarding and training sessions, support market launches, resolve operational challenges, and gather merchant feedback to improve the overall program experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with local merchants, restaurant owners, managers, and frontline staff.
• Conduct frequent field visits to restaurants and other local businesses to support onboarding and program adoption.
• Manage the merchant launch lifecycle, including pre-launch preparation, activation-day support, transaction walkthroughs, and post-launch follow-up.
• Lead engaging merchant trainings, workshops, office hours, and community events.
• Educate merchants on program processes, tools, and best practices to maximize adoption and ongoing engagement.
• Monitor merchant participation and proactively address issues that may impact adoption, satisfaction, or retention.
• Troubleshoot operational challenges and remove barriers to successful merchant onboarding and participation.
• Partner with Account Managers and internal Product, Operations, and Go-to-Market teams to support successful market launches.
• Collect merchant feedback and identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for program improvement.
• Represent the merchant perspective internally and communicate actionable field insights to relevant teams.
• Develop and improve training materials, field playbooks, and community engagement strategies that can be scaled to future markets.
• Maintain accurate records of merchant activities, follow-ups, training, and engagement.

Required Qualifications

• 57+ years of experience in field sales, merchant success, account management, hospitality, retail, restaurant operations, field operations, community management, customer success, or another customer-facing environment.
• Proven ability to build relationships and establish trust with business owners and customers.
• Experience conducting customer training, workshops, demonstrations, or onboarding sessions.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable independently visiting businesses, initiating conversations, and engaging with owners and staff.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Willingness and ability to spend the majority of the workweek in the field with frequent local travel.
• Passion for supporting local businesses and building strong merchant communities.

Education

• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience will be considered.
