Registered Nurse - Trauma & General Surgery Inpatient Unit

Job Description

The Trauma & General Surgery Inpatient Unit is a high-impact, fast-paced nursing environment that focuses on multi-trauma care, complex wound care, and a variety of surgical conditions. Nurses will engage with step-down and floor patients, allowing for a unique blend of fast-paced floor management and critical step-down care.

Responsibilities

• Manage care for patients with multi-trauma, traumatic brain injuries, and complex surgical conditions.
• Provide nursing interventions that include advanced wound care and management of drains and chest tubes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including care management and rehabilitation services, to enhance patient outcomes.
• Maintain appropriate patient ratios, ensuring a safe and effective care environment.
• Monitor critical care situations and respond to patient needs in both step-down and floor settings.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have Epic experience and Level 1 Trauma experience.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Experience with complex wound care, chest tubes, respiratory support, and advanced medical/surgical conditions.

Schedule

This is a weekend night shift position, working from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on either Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
