Position Summary

Universal Utilities is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Technician to perform meter installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting services. This role involves traveling along an assigned weekly route to customer locations and working outdoors in a variety of conditions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, enjoys hands-on technical work, and has a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, replace, and maintain utility meters

• Troubleshoot meter issues and perform necessary repairs

• Accurately document work performed and report findings

• Travel to assigned locations according to a scheduled weekly route

• Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards

• Interact professionally with customers when on-site

• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working order

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Willing and able to travel regularly as part of an assigned route

• Mechanical or technical aptitude preferred

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Basic computer or mobile device proficiency for reporting and documentation

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry equipment as required

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, crawl, and kneel for extended periods

• Comfortable working in outdoor environments
