Medical Director Veterinarian

Introduction
Our client is a hospital providing specialty and emergency veterinary care and is seeking a Specialty Medical Director Veterinarian to lead their clinical team. This is a well-established multi-specialty and emergency hospital delivering advanced care across a wide range of disciplines, with a strong focus on medical excellence, collaboration, and leadership.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital offers specialty services Monday to Sunday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. This is a full-time position.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Specialty Medical Director Veterinarian will provide medical leadership and clinical oversight across the hospital, mentoring specialists, emergency clinicians, interns, and residents. Responsibilities include collaborating with operational leadership to align medical quality with hospital performance, shaping long-term clinical standards, and fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. The role allows flexibility to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on clinical work. This position is suited to an experienced veterinarian, ideally a board-certified specialist or experienced emergency clinician.

This is a premier specialty and emergency hospital with a strong referral network and a consistently robust caseload. The hospital provides advanced services including Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Neurology, Surgery, Orthopedics, Critical Care, Emergency Care, and Urgent Care, supported by state-of-the-art diagnostics and an in-house laboratory. The facility operates with a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach, enabling high-quality care for complex cases. Additional services include primary care, specialty care, emergency care, urgent care, surgery, and boarding and grooming, all delivered within a culture that emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and continuous development.

Team
The team consists of 19 DVMs supported by a great tenured support team, creating a highly collaborative and specialist-driven environment.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so

Salary up to $300,000 (Annual)

• $150k - $300k Base Salary + production
• PTO + additional CE PTO hours
