Construction Field Project Manager- Security

Position Overview The Johnson Controls team is looking for a Security Project Manager to lead moderately complex security projects. This role involves managing project scope, schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations while ensuring timely project closure. Key Responsibilities Lead security projects of medium to high corporate priority. Provide subject matter expertise in project management, security system setup, scope definition, risk identification, methodology, prioritization, and facilitation. Maintain control of schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction at all times. Present project updates to management and/or customers. Manage vendor relationships throughout the security installation. Ensure projects are closed on time and within scope. Methodology Apply Project Management Institute (PMI) methodology and knowledge areas: Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk, and Procurement. Communication & Coordination Perform communication and status reporting to project staff, customers, and Johnson Controls management. Lead project resources, assign duties, define responsibilities, and provide technical advice. Fiscal Responsibilities Track project expenditures and installation progress. Maintain full financial accountability; forecast financial trends and integrate cost structures. Quality Assurance Conduct inspections to ensure workmanship meets Johnson Controls security installation standards. Customer Service Provide concise, professional support to customers and project personnel; ensure timely follow‑up on concerns. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or equivalent work experience of at least five years. 5 years of project management in the security industry (preferred) or new construction. Travel as needed. Preferred certifications: Certified Security Project Manager (CSPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP). Ability to acquire preferred certification within 6 months of employment is acceptable. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $89,000 – $134,000, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
