What You'll DoAs our Archaeological Field Technician, you'll support a range of field and reporting activities that contribute to the identification, documentation, and preservation of cultural resources.Fieldwork & Data Collection Perform archaeological field surveys, excavation, construction monitoring, and documentation in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements.Coordination & Communication Communicate effectively with construction crews, field staff, and project teams.Monitoring & Reporting Maintain monitoring logs and provide regular status updates to project management.Resource Identification & Protection Identify cultural resources in the field and communicate requirements with construction personnel, including Tribal representatives. Required QualificationsPrior archaeological field training or experience in an academic or professional settingAbility to navigate using GPS and traverse uneven terrain on foot while carrying equipmentAbility to reliably identify a wide array of archaeological artifacts and features common to Washington and outlying areasAbility to accurately observe, describe, and record soils, sediments, and cultural resources on standardized digital and analog formsAbility to positively represent the shared values of Psomas and its clients while effectively collaborating and communicating with a variety of teammates and project partnersValid driver's license with reliable transportation and a clean driving recordResides in Western Washington- this opening requires candidates to reside in the Seattle vicinity and/or make the daily commute to SeattlePreferred QualificationsBachelor 's Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related fieldPrior experience with archaeological field survey, hand excavation, and construction monitoring in WashingtonAbility to operate 4x4 vehicles in remote or undeveloped terrain, as needed Compensation & BenefitsPay Range: $27.00 - $36.05/hour (commensurate with experience) Incentives: Working on local archaeology projects, recognition programs, 401(k) with immediate vested company match, Employee Stock Ownership Plan that is 100% paid by Psomas (depending on eligibility)Time Off: Sick Pay in accordance with state and federal lawsOur Hiring ApproachOur recruiting team reviews every application personally and will keep candidates informed throughout the process.
