Estimator (Windsor)

Estimator (CST) – Global Headquarters, Windsor, ON The Estimator is responsible for processing quotes, logging details, communicating changes, and managing all information pertinent to the function of estimating. This position reports to the Director of Cost Estimating. Key Responsibilities Input Customer RFQ into the quote tracking system. Communicate and review quote/no‑quote decisions with appropriate sales management. Ensure completion of RFQ packages, distribute them to division personnel, and contact APP sales personnel if incomplete. Set target dates and monitor them with the sales team. Support manufacturing personnel with additional requested information for RFQ packages to ensure quote accuracy. Collect internal cost bases from the plants. Ensure all quotes from divisions are complete (feasibility studies, capacities, SQE sign‑offs, etc.). Deliver executive summary sheets for approval to the Sales Management Team and at least one member of the Executive group. Distribute the quote master sheet to Sales once approved. Notify division personnel of quote acceptance or non‑acceptance. Track all engineering changes to keep Program Management aware. Maintain a database of business not received and the status of all current and past quotes, including piece price, engineering changes, dates, and personnel involved. Ensure all quote files are maintained and up to date. Update customer requirements, APP quote standards, and supplier quote standards as needed. Complete IRR, Variable Margin, and Capital Requirements calculations for the President & CEO. Support Program Managers at customer technical review meetings when required. Assist with pricing issues for tooling and piece prices as requested. Help support, maintain, and utilize internal/customer portals. Submit customer responses for piece price and tooling costs in a timely fashion. Ensure quarterly exchange rate changes and material costs are accurate and up to date for all production parts (Honda only). Interact with respective customers on a regular basis. Prepare all paperwork for and attend GAP meetings as required (Honda only). Ensure quotes are turned around to the customer within the required timeline (Honda within 10 days, General Motors within 3 days). Suggest and implement new systems to streamline and improve APP quoting processes. Qualifications Secondary school diploma or equivalent; preference for completion of a college/university program in Engineering, Finance, or a related area. 3 to 5 years of experience as an estimator quoting plastic component parts. Experience in blueprint reading and comprehension of State of Requirements. Proven project management skills and proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word. Analytical mindset with problem‑solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi‑task in a quick‑paced environment. Preferred Experience CAD proficiency. Background in Tooling & Gauging. Background in Paint & Assembly.
