Our challenge

We are seeking a Business Systems Architect with strong expertise in AI-driven solutions and API-led architecture to design and deliver scalable, enterprise-grade platforms. This role bridges business strategy and technology execution, ensuring alignment across product, data, and integration ecosystems

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $130k-$150/year & benefits (see below)..

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Define and govern end-to-end business system architecture across applications, data, AI, and integration layers
• Design API-first and event-driven architectures for enterprise systems
• Develop scalable AI-enabled solutions (ML models, GenAI, intelligent automation)
• Identify opportunities to embed AI/ML and GenAI use cases (e.g., decision automation, personalization, chatbots)
• Partner with data teams to define data pipelines, governance, and AI model lifecycle (MLOps)
• Ensure responsible AI principles (security, bias mitigation, explainability)
• Establish API strategy, governance, and lifecycle management
• Design integrations using REST, GraphQL, event streaming (Kafka), and microservices
• Enable partner ecosystem and open banking integrations (where applicable)
• Translate business capabilities into technology architecture blueprints and roadmaps
• Collaborate with Product Managers, BAs, and Engineering teams to define solution requirements and ADRs
• Drive architecture governance and best practices

Requirements:

• Strong expertise in API-led architecture, microservices, and cloud-native development.
• Proven experience in designing scalable, secure, and resilient platforms.
• Solid understanding of data management, data integration, and analytics.
• Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks, tools, and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills.
• Certification in architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.) is a plus.
