What You'll DoWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sr. Infrastructure Capacity Program Manager, NPI to join our Infrastructure Capacity team. In this role, you will be the go-to infrastructure capacity partner for our Hardware New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Operations teams — tracking data center infrastructure hardware roadmaps, determining ordering cut-over points, and signaling scope and BOM requirements to Capacity, Supply Chain, Construction, and Execution so that new hardware programs land in the fleet on schedule and old hardware is retired cleanly.
About the roleCore Responsibilities
- NPI Roadmap: Track infrastructure hardware NPI roadmaps and transition schedules across power, cooling, and network, giving Infrastructure Capacity forward visibility into what's coming online and what's being retired.
- Cut-Over Point Determination: Determine the cut-over point between ordering legacy/outgoing hardware and new/incoming hardware for each site or program — weighing lead times, EOL risk, and deployment timing to avoid over-ordering hardware that's about to be replaced or under-ordering ahead of a delayed transition.
- Downstream Signaling (Scope & BOM): Signal downstream teams — Capacity, Supply Chain, Construction, and the Execution team — with clear scope and Bill of Materials (BOM) requirements as new hardware programs take shape, so each team can plan, budget, and procure in lockstep rather than reacting late.
- NPI Weekly Meeting Representation: Attend NPI weekly DC planning meetings as the standing representative of the Infrastructure Capacity team — bringing a capacity and infrastructure-readiness lens into hardware planning discussions, and carrying decisions, risks, and action items back to Infrastructure Capacity and affected downstream teams.
- Infrastructure Readiness PM & Ownership: Act as the program manager for infrastructure readiness on NPI hardware programs — driving cross-functional workstreams, tracking milestones and risks, and ensuring power, cooling, network, and space readiness are in place ahead of each program's target ship/deployment date.
Additional Responsibilities
- Infrastructure DC NPI / Product Scaling Designs: Partner with Hardware NPI teams to translate new GPU/CPU, power, and cooling product designs into data center infrastructure requirements at scale — assessing whether existing site designs (power density, cooling architecture, rack/row layout) can support a new product generation, and defining the infrastructure scaling design changes needed where they cannot.
- Cooling & Power Architecture Transition Planning: Apply working technical knowledge of cooling and power infrastructure to plan for major architecture transitions as new hardware programs mature — for example, moves from air-cooled (AC) racks to in-rack Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) to fully remote/centralized CDU plants — translating each transition into concrete power, space, and facility impacts for Design, Capacity, Supply Chain, and Construction.
- Rack & Network Hardware Program Support: Provide infrastructure-readiness planning for new rack-level power/cooling control hardware (e.g., rack-level power and cooling controller/monitoring modules and liquid-cooling valve and manifold assemblies) and new high-density, liquid-cooled networking/switch rack designs, ensuring power, cooling, space, and cabling-pathway readiness keeps pace with these programs from early prototype/pilot stages through fleet-wide rollout.
- Vendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Hardware NPI teams, equipment OEMs, DC Design and Network Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction to align NPI timelines with site plans, procurement lead times, and CapEx/OpEx budgeting.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of NPI roadmaps, EOL schedules, cut-over decisions, scope/BOM handoffs, and lifecycle-management decisions, ensuring a clear system of record as hardware generations turn over.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve complex planning challenges where new hardware requirements outpace existing site capabilities, or where cut-over timing is at risk, escalating trade-offs that affect delivery timelines.
- Industry Trends: Stay abreast of emerging compute, power, cooling, and network hardware roadmaps and industry NPI/lifecycle-management best practices, incorporating relevant advancements into CoreWeave's own NPI planning process.
- Data center infrastructure technical knowledge to understand and engage credibly in discussions about the products involved — GPUs, CPUs, Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs), power hardware chain, and cooling infrastructure — without needing to design the hardware yourself.
- Strong program/project management skills: able to drive cross-functional workstreams, track milestones and risks, hold multiple teams accountable to dates, and keep several concurrent NPI programs moving in parallel.
- Ideally, experience in cloud hardware or data center infrastructure; at minimum, a demonstrated ability to quickly learn power, cooling, and network hardware concepts well enough to represent Infrastructure Capacity in technical planning discussions.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in data center infrastructure planning, hardware New Product Introduction (NPI), or a related engineering/program role within large-scale data center or cloud environments.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with hardware or product engineering (NPI) teams to translate new product requirements into infrastructure, facility, or site plans, including defining scope and Bill of Materials (BOM) handoffs to downstream teams.
- Experience determining or supporting hardware ordering cut-over decisions — balancing lead times, EOL timing, and deployment schedules.
- Solid understanding of data center power, cooling, and network infrastructure principles, and how new hardware generations — including major cooling architecture transitions — impact site capacity and design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical information and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent Infrastructure Capacity in cross-functional meetings and translate technical hardware detail for non-technical stakeholders (Supply Chain, Construction, Finance) and vice versa.
- Proficiency in capacity planning, roadmap tracking, or project management tools (e.g., DCIM platforms, project/portfolio tracking software) is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Experience in cloud hardware or data center infrastructure programs, ideally spanning compute (GPU/CPU), power, cooling, and network hardware.
- Formal program/project management training or certification (e.g., PMP, or equivalent stage-gate/NPI program management experience).
- Hands-on experience with liquid cooling architecture transitions (e.g., air-cooled to in-rack CDU to remote/centralized CDU) in a data center or similar critical-facility environment.
- Experience working directly with rack-level hardware programs (e.g., rack power/cooling controller or management modules, liquid-cooling valve/manifold assemblies) from an infrastructure planning perspective.
- Familiarity with End-of-Life (EOL) / End-of-Service-Life (EOSL) management practices for power, cooling, or network equipment.
