WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLEThe AVP, Forward Deployed Engineer is responsible for partnering directly with business stakeholders, portfolio companies, and technology teams to design and deliver scalable AI, data, and cloud solutions that solve complex business challenges. This role sits at the intersection of software engineering, data engineering, and consulting, translating business requirements into production-ready solutions that drive measurable outcomes.The ideal candidate combines strong Python engineering expertise with experience building modern cloud-native solutions on Azure. They are comfortable working directly with end users, rapidly prototyping solutions, developing scalable data pipelines, and deploying AI-enabled applications using modern data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.HOW YOU ADD VALUERequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field7+ years of experience in software, data, or platform engineeringAdvanced Python development experience with strong software engineering fundamentalsExperience designing and deploying cloud-native solutions in AzureExperience building and supporting distributed, scalable applications and microservicesExperience developing and consuming REST APIsStrong understanding of event-driven architectures and serverless computingExperience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practicesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsProven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutionsPreferred QualificationsHands-on experience with Databricks and modern data engineering frameworksExperience with Snowflake data warehousing and analytics platformsExperience building AI/ML-enabled applications and solutionsFamiliarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI orchestration frameworksExperience with containerization technologies such as Docker and KubernetesExperience with monitoring, observability, and application performance management toolsConsulting or customer-facing solution delivery experienceExperience working across multiple business functions and executive stakeholdersKEY RESPONSIBILITIESPartner with business leaders and portfolio companies to identify opportunities for AI, automation, and data-driven solutionsDesign, build, and deploy modern cloud-native applications using Python and AzureDevelop scalable data pipelines and data products leveraging Databricks and SnowflakeBuild AI-powered solutions that improve business processes and decision-makingLead technical discovery sessions and translate business needs into architecture and implementation plansDevelop APIs, microservices, and event-driven applications supporting enterprise platformsDrive best practices around software development, testing, security, and automationCollaborate closely with product managers, data engineers, architects, and business stakeholdersMentor engineers and contribute to technical standards and engineering excellenceStay current on emerging AI, cloud, and data technologies and identify opportunities for adoptionBase Compensation Range:$127,000.00 To $170,000.00 Annually. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Company’s base compensation range for this position.
