Corrections Nurse

Position Overview ATC Healthcare Metro Detroit is currently looking for an experienced RN for an opening at Kinross Correctional Facility in Kincheloe, MI. Shifts Afternoon/Nights – 12‑hour shifts 1000-2230 / 1630-0700 Day/Afternoon – 12‑hour shifts 0630-1900 / 1000-2230 Pay $64 hourly Responsibilities Complies with ATC Healthcare Services policies and procedures and with client policies and procedures. Maintain records, prepare reports and correspondences. Complete nursing assessments. Refer individuals to medical evaluation as needed. Dispense medications and monitor medical compliance. Support the three types of FDA‑approved medications to treat opioid use disorder. Communicate verbally and in writing and use an electronic record. Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA regarding patient, family, client facility and staff. Provide patient care in a non‑judgmental, non‑discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness to preserve autonomy, rights and dignity. Perform other duties as assigned. The Corrections RN works inside a correctional facility, providing care and coordination for inmates incarcerated in a correctional facility in Marquette, MI. Reporting Reports to the franchise owner/manager or designee and to client supervisors and managers. Education Graduation from an accredited nursing program at the Registered Nurse level or Practical Nurse level as required by the contract. Licensure Active, current, and unencumbered nursing license in the state of practice. Experience At least one year of experience. Credentials Background screening as required by the contract. OIG, SAM, OFAC and NSO screening. Current Health Provider CPR from the American Heart Association at the BLS level. Hepatitis B Statement or Declination (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030(f)(2)). Tuberculosis screening, including an initial baseline TB test before placement at the facility. Some facilities may require a 2‑step PPD with one week between tests within the preceding 12 months or within the contract timeframe. The Quantiferon Gold test or T‑spot may be used instead of a TB skin test. Drug screening as required by the contract. Additional credentials as designated by contract. Environmental Working Conditions Correctional setting. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials. Physical demands include reading medical equipment and documents; pushing carts and equipment may be part of the job. Physical examination may be required by some states and clients.
