Financial Analyst

Job Summary Our client, a leading telecommunications company, is seeking a Financial Analyst to analyze actual costs against budgets and forecasts, monitor financial variances, identify trends, reconcile transactions, and provide data-driven recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable working with financial data, and able to maintain accurate and confidential records while identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes and automate accounting applications. This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role. Core Responsibilities Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs; collecting operational data Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves) 5+ years relevant experience required Advanced Excel SQL Understanding of and/or experience with basic Accounting and Finance Functions Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) Oracle/SAP Power BI ChatGPT or Claude IBM Planning Analytics (TM1) Work Environment Location: Overland Park, KS / Bellevue, WA HYBRID Contract: 3 months Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $30.00 and $43.00 per hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location.
