Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Five positions are available to meet a range of student needs throughout the academic year.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Special Education credential (SPED licensure) valid in Alabama (verification available through the official certification portal)
• Experience working with elementary-aged students in diverse classroom environments
• Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and implementing accommodations or behavior interventions
• Strong collaboration skills to work closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and support staff
• Ability to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
• Effective communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and colleagues

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support in Inclusion, Self-Contained, or Behavior Unit classrooms based on expertise and preference
• Assess student strengths and areas of need to develop and implement IEPs
• Adapt and deliver curriculum to align with student goals and state standards
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to engage students with different learning needs
• Collect progress data and collaborate with team members to adjust interventions as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development
