CURRENT VACANCY: 100% (2 vacancies) Facilities & Operations (1 Vacancy) Fiscal Services (1 Vacancy) This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies across multiple departments within the District. Applications accepted only from July 22, 2026, at 7:30 a.m. to July 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Responsibilities Analyze, prepare, and maintain financial records and reports for various District accounts and funds. Reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and monitor expenditures. Generate financial reports that ensure accuracy, compliance, and sound fiscal management. Review and audit financial data; manage grant reimbursement processes. Support trust and general ledger accounting and participate in year‑end closing and audit activities. Coordinate with external vendors and auditors to support audits and reporting requirements. Collaborate with departments across the District to resolve discrepancies and interpret financial data. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related field. Two (2) years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to independently manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with District policies and procedures. General Purpose Under general supervision, performs professional accounting duties in the analysis, preparation, and maintenance of financial records and reports for various District accounts and funds; performs related duties as assigned. Distinguishing Characteristic Accountants perform professional accounting and financial functions requiring a fundamental knowledge of the District’s purchasing, accounts payable, revenue, and accounts receivable processes and procedures. They are expected to perform these functions accurately and in a timely manner and exercise initiative in resolving problems related to these functions. Accountant is distinguished from Senior Accountant in that employees in the latter class work with greater independence and perform more complex accounting and analyses that have a greater significance and impact on the operations and management of the District. Position Information Type of position: Full time (40 hours/week) / Bargaining Unit Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Location: Will support both campuses, but could be located at either the Liberal Arts Campus (LAC) or Trades, Technology, and Community Learning Campus (TTC) Salary: Range 37, $6,317.81 - $7,789.29 Monthly Eligibility list: Valid for 12 months once approved or ratified by the Personnel Commission; can be used for vacancies in this classification and related classifications. Advanced salary placement: Generally, new employees start at the first step; advanced placement capped at Step 3 on a case‑by‑case basis.
