Learn more at  At Aeon, our maintenance team plays a vital role in delivering on our mission by creating communities where residents feel safe, respected, and proud to call home. Position SummaryAeon is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the team at Chicago Avenue and Buri Manor, a community of 98 affordable apartment homes in downtown Minneapolis. This full-time, Monday–Friday position has no on-call responsibilities, offering a predictable schedule while providing meaningful work that helps ensure residents have safe, well-maintained homes. As the Maintenance Technician, you'll play an essential role in supporting residents by ensuring their homes and shared spaces are safe, functional, and well maintained. Through responsive repairs, preventative maintenance, apartment turnovers, and daily property upkeep, you'll help create an environment where residents can thrive and feel proud to call their community home. Working closely with the Property Manager, Building Technicians, vendors, and other team members, you'll perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks while contributing to the overall appearance, safety, and operation of the property. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in quality workmanship, values strong customer service, and wants to make a meaningful impact through their work. This position reports to the Property Manager. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintenance & RepairsComplete maintenance service requests in a timely, professional, and resident-focused manner.Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of building systems and apartment components, including:Plumbing fixtures and systemsElectrical fixtures and minor electrical repairsAppliancesAir handlers and general HVAC equipmentLocks, keys, and door hardwareInterior finishes, including drywall, flooring, trim, and paint touch-upsDoors, cabinets, light fixtures, window coverings, and other building componentsPerform routine preventative maintenance to extend the life of building systems and equipment while helping reduce unexpected repairs.Identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues and recommend appropriate corrective action.Maintain accurate records of completed work orders, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities. Apartment TurnoversPrepare vacant apartments for new residents by completing repairs, cleaning-related maintenance tasks, and quality inspections.Ensure apartment homes meet Aeon's standards for safety, functionality, and appearance prior to move-in. Property Upkeep & Building OperationsMaintain the overall cleanliness, safety, and curb appeal of the property, including interior common areas and exterior grounds, in partnership with Aeon's Building Technicians and vendors.Perform regular trash removal, trash area maintenance, and debris cleanup throughout the property.Monitor the condition of building systems, common areas, and grounds, reporting issues that require additional attention.Assist with seasonal property maintenance, including light snow removal, salting, sanding walkways, and other weather-related responsibilities.Support property inspections, vendor access, and other operational activities as needed.Maintain an organized maintenance shop and ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are used safely and stored properly. Resident & Team SupportProvide courteous, respectful, and professional service when interacting with residents, visitors, contractors, and coworkers.Build positive relationships with residents by responding to maintenance requests professionally, respectfully, and with a focus on excellent customer service.Communicate maintenance updates and collaborate with the Property Manager to prioritize work that supports resident safety and operational needs.Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations while maintaining a safe work environment.Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the community. Skills & Qualifications We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and is committed to creating safe, well-maintained homes for residents. Strong work ethic with the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and current vehicle insurance required.Must own basic maintenance tools. Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend and kneel for extended periods of time.Ability to conduct property tours and inspections: Includes walking through hallways, stairwells, leasing offices, common areas, and vacant or occupied apartment homes. This may involve navigating multiple floors and uneven surfaces.Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.Ability to reach above and below the shoulders.Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist and pull.Ability to withstand external weather conditions such as working outside in the rain, cold, heat or other adverse weather.Ability to quickly respond to sights and sounds that may pose a threat to persons or property. The physical requirements described above represent the essential functions of the job and may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.  Certifications/LicensesCandidates must currently hold or be able to obtain the following certification within the first six months of employment with Aeon. Aeon will support the Maintenance Technician with obtaining certifications through training classes and/or by paying licensing/certification fees where applicable:Special Boiler's License Compensation, Hours & Location This position offers a pay range of $26-$28 per hour, depending on experience and skill set.
