Surgical Technologist Opportunity

Facilitates the performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. Ensures quality patient care during operations and constantly monitors the maintenance of the sterile field.

Located off the beautiful Oregon Coast, this is one of the area's leading healthcare providers. The facility comprises a critical access medical center, rural health and urgent care medical offices, home care services, and a vast scope of services. Essential Functions:

• Verifies surgery to be performed with consent forms and brings patients to assigned operating rooms.
• Passes instruments to the surgeon during procedures.
• Anticipates the needs of surgeons for additional supplies.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulators prior to operations and before incision closure.
• Prepares sterile dressings and secures them after incision closure.
• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Obtains appropriate sterile and unsterile items needed for procedures.
• Sets up sterile tables with instruments, supplies, and medications needed for procedures.
• Helps drape the sterile field.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assists other team members with cleaning rooms for turnover.
• Assists in prepping rooms for the next patient.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Organizational Requirements:

Committed to the safety and well-being of associates and patients. All associates must receive required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Participation in E-Verify is mandatory. Total Bed Count: 3 operating rooms and 1 endoscopy room. Staffing Ratios: 1:4 teams during days, 1:1 call team at night, and 1:1 call team on weekends. Types of procedures include joints, C-sections, general surgery, gynecology, urology, ENT, podiatry, and endoscopy. Certified Technologists with at least 2-3 years of experience are preferred. Surgical Technologists support decontamination by cleaning instruments and endoscopes. Training is provided, but past experience is helpful. All staff are required to be on call 1 night a week and 1 weekend a month. Shifts are typically four 9-hour shifts per week.
