Job Description Job Title: Psychiatrist Location: Madison IN 47250 Pay rate: $175/hr. Shift: Standard- Days Hour/week: 40hr./week Position Summary The Psychiatrist provides high‑quality psychiatric care in a state‑operated hospital setting. This role involves delivering direct patient care, leading treatment planning, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards. Education and Experience Board Certification: Board‑Certified or Board‑Eligible in General Psychiatry (MD/DO), with subspecialty certification if applicable. Licensure: Valid license to practice medicine in Indiana, issued by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency. Residency Training: Completion of an accredited residency in Psychiatry (subspecialty training if applicable). Credentials: Indiana Controlled Substance Registration and DEA credentials. Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Key Responsibilities Deliver Psychiatric Care: Conduct assessments, prescribe medications, and provide patient/family education. Lead Treatment Planning: Guide interdisciplinary teams in developing and implementing treatment plans. Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work with physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care. Document and Diagnose: Gather patient histories, analyze data, and diagnose mental disorders. Maintain Standards: Participate in continuing education, comply with bylaws, and serve on hospital committees. Competencies for Success Strategic Thinking: Understand healthcare systems and contexts. Physical Effort and Working Conditions Extended periods of sitting, with occasional need to run short distances for immediate patient care.
