Summary of Job Purpose
The Fleet Mechanic Assistant will support the Vehicle Maintenance Manager in maintaining and repairing the vehicle and equipment fleet in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations and the Dodge Ridge Maintenance Program. This position requires a competent mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting of various machinery and components, and performing all tasks with a safety-first attitude. This position will also provide support to other maintenance projects such as Lift Maintenance. This position is a KEY member of the Dodge Ridge Team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUnder the direction of Supervisor:
Assist in the maintenance and repair of the Dodge Ridge vehicle and equipment fleet.
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
As directed, perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot to determine the cause of malfunctions. Perform repairs to electrical systems including starting, lights, wiring, switches, and engine controls; perform tune-ups and performance tests.
Keep detailed, accurate work logs and records of daily, weekly, and monthly repairs and preventative maintenance.
Knowledge of all repair manuals and maintenance information.
Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventory and conserve resources by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate equipment, parts, and supplies and use equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Meet service level objectives and department standards as set forth by immediate supervisor
Responsible use and care of radio equipment.
Assist with other maintenance projects as directed.

Use the appropriate safety equipment for the task being performed.
Recognize, report, and correct any safety hazards within the work environment.
Safe operation of vehicles in a variety of terrain.
Understand and follow the Dodge Ridge Safety Plan.
Maintain a tremendous level of organization, professionalism and cleanliness in all work stations; adhering to and accountable for the proper care, storage and safety procedures regarding the use of tools and equipment.
Proven mechanical training and troubleshooting skills.
Be technically and mechanically minded, with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to read and to write legibly and to use good composition skills to complete records and report forms
Basic mathematical skills.
The ability to work in a fast-paced, task-oriented environment and maximize use of time
Must be able to work in an environment involving noise pollution, requiring the use of hearing protection.
Possess the ability to learn and be knowledgeable of the needs of the equipment and standard procedures for their care and safe operation.
Possess the ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Be well groomed and present a professional public image.
Be in good physical condition, as this position requires standing for long periods of time and the shoveling of snow.
May be required at times to do heavy, awkward lifting (up to 100lbs., with assistance).
Must be capable of tolerating heights.
Have good manual and physical dexterity skills.
Must possess a valid driver's license and meet the Motor Vehicle Record qualifications as outlined in the Fleet Safety Program.
Provide a positive and helpful attitude towards all our customers and all Dodge Ridge employees.

Weather conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Dodge Ridge employees.
When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods, you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.
You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snow packed, and icy road surfaces.
Working ConditionsAt any time during the ski season, Dodge Ridge employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.
Work is typically performed indoors working directly with resort guests and other resort staff members and it can be noisy. At times, you may be expected to work outside were it can be cold, wet, or humid. There is also the possibility of working around moving objects such as vehicles or snow blowers and occasionally may be required to assist with snow removal using a snow shovel.
UniformsA professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. However, you will be required to provide some items as part of your job, as listed below. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift.
