Role Overview The Cardiology Invasive Technologist performs a wide range of technical skills during cardiac and vascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory and the electrophysiology laboratory. The cardiovascular technologist is responsible for operating highly technical equipment and products under the direct supervision of a qualified licensed independent practitioner (LIP). The technologist is proficient in all aspects of angiography, patient preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring consistent with all policies, procedures, and processes to ensure safe, efficient, and comfortable exams for all patients. Responsibilities Perform a wide range of technical skills during cardiac and vascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology laboratories. Operate highly technical equipment and products under direct supervision of a qualified licensed independent practitioner (LIP). Proficient in all aspects of angiography, patient preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring consistent with all policies, procedures, and processes to ensure safe, efficient, and comfortable exams for all patients. Perform in the scrub and monitor roles during diagnostic and interventional procedures performed in the cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology lab. Requirements Licensure, certification, or registration: Current RCIS or RCES certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International or eligible to complete RCIS/RCES certification within two years from date of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers). Experience: Previous experience as required by Cardiovascular Credentialing International. Preferred: One (1) year of previous invasive cardiology experience; PALS and ACLS certification. Education/Training: Graduation from a programmatically accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology or electrophysiology, or education, training, and/or experience that satisfies the eligibility requirement for the Cardiovascular Credentialing International certification of RCIS or RCES.
