Structural Engineer - Utilities/Infrastructure

We are looking for a self‑motivated, detail‑oriented professional with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and at least 10+ years of experience in civil engineering work for utilities, infrastructure, and/or substation design. At this position, you will be the lead civil engineer on one or more projects at any given time. The right candidate will have the skills to complete a wide variety of difficult engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques, and analysis within the discipline while coordinating with other disciplines to complete projects. Location: Abilene, Odessa, or Houston Type: Full Time - In Office Responsibilities Experience as a Civil Engineer for projects in utilities, infrastructure, and/or substation design Experience completing grading and drainage design of green field facilities from a topographical survey Act as a discipline civil engineer for selected projects Interact with all engineering disciplines, engineering and construction project managers, and clients Provide input into the initial project schedule and support the regular maintenance of project schedules for all projects Provide man hour and equipment estimates for project proposals as required Follow procedures and systems to maximize department efficiency Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and interface with people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency Self‑motivated with skills to work well with others and the client Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and Licensed Professional Engineer in State of Texas At least 10 years’ experience in utilities and infrastructure / industrial setting Strong communication skills Knowledge of substation design, grading and drainage design Proficient in RISA 3D, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Civil 3D Experienced in leading engineering team and working with Civil Design team Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting / standing at a desk and working on a computer Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to walk the property and laydown yards Ability to carry up to 50 pounds Equal Opportunity Employer Saulsbury is an equal opportunity employer.
