Pharmacy Technician

Mount Laurel Animal Hospital is currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Pharmacy Technician to join our hospital team. This vital role ensures our pharmacy operates efficiently, supporting our doctors and patients by maintaining inventory, preparing medications, and ensuring accurate and timely dispensing. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, and committed to delivering excellent client and patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain pharmacy with supplies needed for daily hospital operations and place orders as necessary
• Manage pharmacy inventory and anticipate upcoming needs across departments
• Receive and process prescription refill requests in a timely manner
• Keep pharmacy area organized, clean, and free of clutter or debris
• Dispense prescribed medications and pharmaceuticals according to legal and professional standards
• Review prescriptions from veterinarians for accuracy and determine appropriate formulas and ingredients
• Answer client questions regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and use
• Ensure proper procedures are followed for quality assurance and security of controlled substances
• Enter and update pharmacy data, maintain inventory logs, and ensure accurate charge system documentation

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience
• Knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory management

Technical Abilities and Skills

• Exceptional client service and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze and interpret technical documents and business communications
• Proven ability to follow through and complete tasks consistently
• Highly reliable with excellent time management and organizational skills
• Must be able to regularly lift up to 40 pounds
