Job Overview Freight Forwarder, Gateway Air Import – Full Time – DSV Air & Sea Inc. – Location: USA, Iselin, Wood Ave. Division: Air & Sea. Job posting title: Freight Forwarder, Gateway Air Import – 120171. Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate air import shipments directly from the gateway facility, including booking cargo space, arranging pick‑ups, and coordinating with carriers and airlines. Ensure compliance with import regulations and documentation requirements. Prepare and verify import documentation (air waybill, commercial invoice, packing list, import license) for accuracy and efficiency. Facilitate customs clearance procedures, file import declarations, and obtain necessary permits or certificates. Monitor shipment movement from gateway to destination airport, track transit milestones, and provide status updates to clients and stakeholders. Address transit issues or delays and implement corrective actions as needed. Serve as primary point of contact for clients, providing status updates and responding to inquiries. Coordinate with freight carriers, ground handlers, customs brokers, and other service providers to resolve operational issues. Negotiate rates and terms with suppliers to optimize service quality and cost effectiveness. Ensure data and documentation accuracy, conduct quality checks on packaging, labeling, and documentation. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement in air import operations. Implement best practices and quality standards to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction. Qualifications Educational background: Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, international business, or related field preferred. Additional certifications in freight forwarding or customs brokerage are advantageous. Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in freight forwarding, air import operations, or international logistics. Strong knowledge of air freight operations, international trade regulations, and customs procedures. Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Proficiency with freight forwarding software and systems (e.g., CargoWise, CHAMP Cargosystems). Effective communication and negotiation abilities. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry. Fluent in English (oral and written). Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Familiarity with freight forwarding software for booking, tracking, and documentation management. Preferred: Certification from relevant industry organizations (e.g., IATA, FIATA). Preferred: Experience with perishable goods or hazardous materials handling in air freight. Preferred: Familiarity with industry‑specific regulations and compliance standards. Work Schedule Generally eight hours per day, five days a week. Current schedule is Wednesday—Sunday. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs. At‑Will Employment DSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as “at‑will” employees. Compensation Expected base pay range: $24 – $30.50 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
