Position Title Enterprise Monitoring Admin Location Quantico, VA Clearance Requirements Secret Contract Type Long Term Contract Pay Rate $35-55 an hour depending on experience Required Skills & Education SolarWinds, Remedy, Windows or Linux Administration Overview Enterprise Monitoring handles Windows Servers 2022 and Linux Ubuntu servers for the Marine Corps. A large portion of the role is maintaining the SolarWinds monitoring system, ensuring visibility across the network to pre‑emptively detect issues. Key Responsibilities Check alerts, resolve SolarWinds issues, and update modules to keep the system healthy. Maintain VMware virtualization, storage, backups, and disaster recovery plans. Apply STIGs, complete scans, and manage patching for security compliance. Assist and train team members on procedures and system operations. Senior Admin Competencies Understand Server Admin Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. Conduct vulnerability scans, patching cycles, and security audits. Secure systems without disrupting services. Create and maintain documentation, diagrams, and operational notes. Navigate Linux environments (logs, services, permissions). Apply networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, firewalls). Report issues and maintain security compliance. Technical Proficiencies Work with vCenter: maintain VMs, storage, clusters, snapshots, and resource balancing. Identify and isolate problems, troubleshoot, and stabilize systems. Proficiency in SolarWinds and Remedy. Communicate solutions clearly in plain English. Support junior team members and document configuration changes. Ensure logs, auditing, and access controls are properly configured. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams during assessments. Maintain system security to uphold Authorization to Operate (ATO). Emergency Response Understand backup plans and restoration procedures. Restore systems quickly and prevent recurrence of failures. Troubleshooting & Tier 3/4 Support Resolve complex server, network, and application issues. Provide senior‑level escalation support to communications with the Government, Vendor, and Battle Captain. Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability across distributed environments. Ensure server infrastructure meets mission readiness standards.
