Job Description

The Domain Architect, Content and Experience owns the ecosystem roadmap, architecture standards, and design review operations for content management, web delivery, digital asset management, and learning management across Global Commercial Business Technology Services. The role is the primary architecture relationship owner for Adobe and Veeva and is accountable for driving decisions for content and experiential technology adoption, such as Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe Learning Manager, Adobe Assets, and Veeva Vault PromoMats. 

Responsibilities:

• Advance program objectives and resolve high-impact technical issues . Advise on and validate sophisticated programs and analyses, orchestrate cross-functional technical efforts, and provide recommendations on ambiguous technical questions. You will rule on content management solutions and product selection. 
• Manage design reviews and enforce architecture compliance.  Lead Domain Review Board reviews for web, CMS, DAM, and LMS designs against the architecture review standards, assuring compliance, performance, and extensibility. Coordinate remediation plans with named owners and dates. 
• Lead cross-functional training and translate strategy into blueprints.  Train delivery teams on content management, modularity, and publishing standards. You will be responsible for skill development and recruiting standards for architecture and engineering teams. 
• Drive continuous improvement of architecture frameworks.  Iterate web platform standards using audit findings and post-launch evidence, benchmarking against composable digital experience platform and edge delivery practice. Own AEM and content platform version currency and end-of-life positions, including Adobe release cadence and the retirement schedule for legacy web serving stacks. 
• Own technical strategy for major, complex programs.  Own the centralized oversight of architecture for content and experience platforms, including product selection, solution ecosystem, and consolidation. Define technical approach and success criteria, establish quality standards, and coordinate delivery teams and external agencies to standards-aligned delivery. 
• Own the content and experience ecosystem roadmap.  Publish and maintain the multi-year roadmap covering AEM, the web serving platforms, digital asset management, and learning management. State the target state for each web serving platform and the criteria that place a property on one platform rather than another. This will include the infusion of new technology solutions and best-of-breed implementations. 
• Author web platform fleet standards and the AEM target architecture.  Own the standards that make a large property portfolio manageable: component and template reuse, authoring model, multi-site, and multi-language architecture, CDN and edge delivery patterns, performance and accessibility baselines, secure and transactional, and decommissioning criteria for retired properties. Own the AEM target architecture across regulated and consumer properties, including environment topology, upgrade posture, and asset management integration. 
• Own the headless and composable position and the content supply chain.  Publish the standing position on headless CMS and composable architecture: when AEM is the answer, when a headless approach is justified, and what a team must demonstrate to deviate. Decision criteria must be published rather than negotiated per project. Own the content supply chain from asset creation through promotional review to publication, including PromoMats to AEM handoffs, asset metadata and taxonomy, internationalization, and reuse across markets. 
• Own audit readiness, rationalization, and build, buy, or wait decisions.  Own the architecture artifacts and platform inventory that support the Commercial Websites audit, and own remediation of any architecture findings. Identify duplicate and near-duplicate web properties and content platforms; this domain holds the largest long tail in the portfolio and therefore the largest single source of duplicate-capability reduction available. Lead new technology RFPs in this domain. 
• Own vendor relationships and provide dotted-line technical leadership.  Serve as primary architecture relationship owner for Adobe, running the quarterly strategic review cadence and providing the architecture input (traffic projections, property consolidation impact, hosting placement) that informs consumption-based licensing decisions. Own the architecture-side Veeva Vault relationship in content and DAM scope. Enforce the entry condition on any new hosting vendor: an enterprise agreement on a proper contract vehicle with a clean security assessment, or it does not reach production. Mentor the AEM Platform Architect and solutions architects. 

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field with 9 years of experience; OR Master’s Degree with 8 years of experience; OR PhD with 4 years of experience.
• Respective years of progressive experience in enterprise, domain, or solution architecture, with demonstrated experience focused on content management, web platforms, or digital experience platforms. 
• Deep architectural experience with Adobe Experience Manager or Adobe Experience Cloud, including multi-site and multi-language architecture, component and template design, authoring workflow, and environment topology. 
• Demonstrated experience architecting and governing a portfolio of many web properties rather than a single flagship site: reuse patterns, platform standards, launch templates, and decommissioning discipline. 
• Experience with at least two of: digital asset management platforms; promotional or regulated content review workflow; headless or composable CMS architecture; CDN and edge delivery; or learning management platforms. 
• Working understanding of web non-functional requirements as governed concerns: performance, accessibility, AEO/SEO structure, and content security. 
• Demonstrated experience authoring and publishing architecture standards, reference architectures, or roadmaps that delivery teams actually adopted, and leading architecture review (DRB, ARB, or equivalent) as a governance participant rather than a gatekeeper. 
• Ability to reason about trade-offs with evidence rather than opinion, to identify reuse versus new build, and to produce a decision record covering alternatives, rationale, and risks. Ability to explain a complex architectural decision to non-technical brand and marketing stakeholders operating under launch deadlines. 
• Experience in a regulated industry (pharmaceutical, healthcare, or financial services), with working understanding of content approval workflow, promotional content compliance, and regulated digital content distribution. 

Preferred:

• Master's Degree or a broad architecture certification (TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or equivalent) preferred. 
• 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise, domain, or solution architecture, with at least 5 years focused on content management, web platforms, or digital experience platforms. 
• Preferred: Adobe Certified Expert or Master for AEM; experience supporting an internal or external audit of a web or content management program, including evidence production and remediation; experience with Veeva Vault PromoMats and the PromoMats to CMS publication path; experience with a learning management consolidation or platform migration; experience with cloud-native and edge delivery architecture or AI-assisted content generation and personalization.
