Construction Estimator – Tampa, Florida
A nationally recognized commercial general contractor is looking to add an Estimator to its Tampa preconstruction team. This opportunity is ideal for an early-to-mid-career estimator seeking long-term development with a major construction firm.
Responsibilities
- Prepare conceptual estimates, budgets and competitive bids
- Complete quantity takeoffs and pricing exercises
- Review drawings, specifications and project scopes
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals
- Develop bid packages and scope comparisons
- Identify cost risks, value-engineering opportunities and scope gaps
- Collaborate with preconstruction, operations and project teams
Requirements
- Commercial construction estimating experience
- Experience with a general contractor is preferred
- Understanding of takeoffs, budgeting and subcontractor pricing
- Exposure to large or complex construction projects
- High-rise or multifamily experience is beneficial but not required
- Strong communication, organization and attention to detail
- Must currently live in the Tampa Bay area
