We are growing and are in search of an experienced Claims Manager to join our team in the Tampa Bay area of Florida!

The Claims Manager is directly responsible for developing, leading, and motivating their claims team with a focus on daily claims operations. They will provide direction, guidance, and training to associates on a daily basis to ensure compliance with all company standards and procedures.

We specialize in servicing Insurance carriers that insure both Mobile Home and Homeowners policies. What will you be doing?

• Daily monitoring of designated team’s KPI’s related to, for instance, productivity, loss ratio, loss and loss adjustment expenses and other agreed upon metrics.
• Performs necessary performance improvement action, including but not limited to; coaching, mentoring, and delivery of disciplinary counseling.
• Conducts periodic claims audits to ensure compliance with departmental and statutory claim handling guidelines and best practices.
• Reviews monthly and quarterly company claim reports to proactively respond to company and industry trends.
• Submits designated periodic consolidated reports with appropriate comments to leadership.
• Comply with all service standards and guidelines of our organization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate will possess:

• At least seven (7) years of professional experience in Homeowners P&C claims handling and five (5) years of leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) –or– Experience plus other industry recognized designation(s) (i.e. CPCU, AIC, SCLA)
• Maintain active adjuster license and complies with continuing education (“CE”) requirements
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
• Adapt readily to changes in routine; work effectively in stressful situations; need limited guidance and direction; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; reliable and dependable; result-oriented; maintain productivity and composure under      pressure; view problems as opportunities to create solutions.
• Develop/ maintain effective working relationships; listen attentively to others; communicate ideas clearly (written & verbal); relate to people in an open/ sincere manner; participate effectively in meetings; assist in finding solutions as well as identifying problems; communicate appropriately with supervisor, managed staff and co-workers. Lead effectively with a calm presence and dependable judgment under stress.
• Excellent time management, organization, multi-tasking, mathematical and analytical skills
• Understanding of residential construction
• Proficiency with all Microsoft Office© products
• Experience using Xactimate© and Xactanalysis©

Additional info:

• Our office is located at 7785 66th St. N, Pinellas Park, FL 33781 in the Richard and Evelyn Jerger Building. Typical work hours are 8:30-5:00pm Monday-Friday.

Physical requirements:

This position is in an office environment and would require:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a desk or computer.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the office as needed for meetings and collaboration.
• Constantly operates a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office technology.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues, clients, and leadership.
• Ability to occasionally lift or move light office materials (e.g., files, binders, laptops) up to 15 pounds.
