Job Description

Apex Therapeutic Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to support students across school settings in The Bronx. We have immediate openings for nurses to provide one-on-one care for students with special needs as well as healthcare assistance during school bus transportation.

As a School RN, you’ll play an essential role in promoting student health, safety, and well-being.

Responsibilities One-to-One School Nurse

Provide individualized nursing care to students with special medical needs, including medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and emergency response.
Create and follow individualized care plans in coordination with families, healthcare providers, and school staff.
Maintain open communication with parents, teachers, and related professionals about the student’s health status and progress.
Advocate for appropriate accommodations and support services within the school environment.

Transportation Nurse

Support students with medical needs during school bus transportation, ensuring safety and comfort.
Monitor health status and administer necessary medications or treatments during transit.
Coordinate with bus drivers, school administrators, and parents regarding logistics and any health concerns or emergencies.
Ensure medical supplies and equipment on school buses are available, organized, and properly maintained.

Requirements

Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Current BLS certification.
At least one (1) year of professional nursing experience.
