Phlebotomist I

Job Description Phlebotomist I – Palmdale, CA Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with rotational weekends Pay range: $24.00 – $25.70 per hour. Salary offers consider skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus. Eligibility: Requires a state‑licensed phlebotomy certification. Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, or NV. Responsibilities Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams. Administer oral solutions as trained. Research test/client information and verify orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools. Navigate a computer and accurately enter data; billing information must be entered and payments collected in accordance with corporate policies. Process specimens: label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, and prepare for transport as required. Perform non‑patient‑facing duties such as inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and using email. Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures. Assist with compiling and submitting statistics and data as required. Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs promptly (maintenance logs, temperature logs, etc.). Complete online and in‑person training courses on time. Qualifications Required Education High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington. Work Experience One year of phlebotomy experience preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred. Keyboard and data entry experience. The position requires effective communication in English.
