Job Summary
Polysomnographer in a sleep disorder laboratory setting, responsible for conducting overnight polysomnographic studies, operating sophisticated medical equipment, and ensuring accurate data collection to assist in diagnosing sleep disorders. The technician must be licensed by the Medical Board of California and hold a current Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification. The position involves working primarily during night shifts with a schedule that includes 12-hour shifts and a minimum of 36 hours per week, beginning on 03/30/2026 and concluding on 01/16/2027.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent; current RPSGT certification; licensure by the Medical Board of California as a sleep technologist; at least 2 years of relevant experience; ability to apply judgment, foster effective relationships, and solve problems; knowledge of all aspects of polysomnographic testing, sleep disorders, electronic systems, and new technologies related to sleep diagnostics.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with CPAP and Bilevel titrations; proficiency with sleep laboratory procedures and patient care; excellent communication skills.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include patient preparation, electrode application, monitoring during sleep studies, artifact recognition and elimination, and comprehensive documentation. Candidates must be comfortable providing medications per physician orders and adhering to clinical and hospital policies.
• Note: The role requires proficiency in electronic systems used in sleep diagnostics and staying current with advancements in sleep disorder technology.
