Position Description A graduate student in an institution within the Texas Tech University System employed in support of a department or unit responsible for work assigned by the supervisor within the unit or department which utilizes knowledge beyond undergraduate academic studies. Major/Essential Functions 1. Clinical Support:
- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in conducting assessments and therapy sessions.
- Prepare and manage client materials and documentation for therapy sessions.
- Observe and record client progress, and provide feedback to the supervising SLP.
- Support the administration of standardized assessments and tools for speech and language evaluation.
- Document client performance, therapy goals, and session outcomes accurately.
- Assist in the preparation of assessment reports and progress notes.
- Utilize basic skills in Microsoft Excel to organize and manage client data, track progress, and generate reports.
- Maintain and update electronic and paper-based client records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Assist in compiling and analyzing data for clinical research or case studies.
- Perform routine administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and coordinating with clients and caregivers.
- Assist in the preparation of educational materials, presentations, and informational brochures for clients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary team members, ensuring clear and empathetic interactions.
- Provide support to clients by answering questions and addressing concerns related to therapy and assessment processes.
- Demonstrate good listening skills and respond appropriately to client needs and feedback.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in speech-language pathology.
- Stay informed about current research, methodologies, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Contribute to discussions and case studies as part of the learning process.
- Engage in reflective practice and seek feedback from supervisors to improve clinical skills and professional growth.
- Attend and participate in relevant workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay updated on advancements in the field.
- Collaborate with other students, staff, and professionals in a team-oriented environment to support comprehensive client care.
- Contribute to team meetings and case discussions, sharing insights and observations from clinical experiences.
- Bachelor's of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology or other related fields.
- GPA higher than 3.5.
