Immigration Attorney (BILINGUAL ENGLISH-SPANISH) The Immigration Attorney is responsible for supporting the legal management of the firm's immigration cases through the preparation, analysis, and review of case files, participation in initial consultations, and progressive involvement in legal representation. The attorney must ensure that each case is handled with accuracy, ethics, regulatory compliance, and alignment with EM Immigration Law Firm's internal processes. The primary objective of this position is to train and develop an early-career attorney, providing hands‑on experience in immigration law under direct supervision while contributing to operational continuity, legal quality, and the client experience. Accountability and Compliance: Meet procedural deadlines, assigned responsibilities, and established firm protocols. Functions and Responsibilities1. Legal Consultations, Sales, and Client Service Participate in in‑person and virtual consultations. Actively promote and sell the firm's legal services to prospective clients. Analyze client eligibility for immigration cases and remedies. Explain legal options clearly, ethically, and in a manner that is understandable to the client. Support the legal onboarding process for new clients. Welcome and assist clients at the office. 2. Prospective Client Consultations, Conversion, and Sales Conduct immigration consultations with prospective clients and determine whether they qualify for an immigration remedy. Maintain a professional, empathetic, and client‑focused approach while clearly explaining legal options and building trust. Lead the sales closing process for the firm’s services and train the sales team on the client intake and conversion process. 3. Immigration Case Preparation and Management Prepare legal case files in accordance with internal checklists and SOPs. Complete and review immigration forms and filings involving USCIS, EOIR, NVC, and DOS. Organize supporting evidence, translations, and documentation. Validate the consistency and accuracy of information prior to filing. Represent clients before immigration courts and USCIS. Prior experience is not required; the attorney will develop the necessary skills and competencies to perform this function under appropriate supervision. Assist with the preparation of immigration hearings. Support the drafting of legal documents, motions, and affidavits. Progressively participate in representation before immigration courts in low‑to‑medium‑complexity cases, based on demonstrated knowledge, skills, and level of development. 5. Internal Legal Support Collaborate with Legal Assistants and Legal Auxiliaries in reviewing case files and handling client‑related matters. Respond to internal inquiries from the Customer Service team from a legal perspective. Escalate sensitive, unusual, or complex matters to the Legal Director in a timely manner. Provide coverage for absences at the New York office. 6. Professional Development and Process Compliance Participate in internal training, professional development programs, and legal mentorship. Learn and apply the firm’s legal protocols, checklists, and internal processes. Contribute progressively to the documentation and improvement of legal procedures. Stay current on changes in immigration laws, policies, procedures, and the firm’s internal processes. 7. Client Communication Maintain professional, clear, and respectful communication with assigned clients. Keep clients informed about the general progress of their matters in accordance with firm guidelines. Maintain awareness of verbal communication, body language, and professional conduct during all client interactions. 8. Compliance and Ethics Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding client information. Comply with all EM Immigration Law Firm policies and procedures. Perform any other duties related to the legal operation of the firm as assigned by the direct supervisor. Identify client needs and offer additional applicable legal procedures or services. Identify opportunities to advise clients about additional matters or legal services that may be relevant to their circumstances. 10. Content Production Represent EM Immigration Law Firm in videos and institutional materials. Participate in social media recordings. Support the development of the firm’s public authority, credibility, and trust. Participate in live broadcasts, interviews, seminars, and events. Collaborate with the Marketing Department in selecting topics based on sales trends and audience needs. Maintain a professional image consistent with the firm’s values and brand. Candidate ProfileAcademic Background Juris Doctor (JD) / Attorney, preferably recently graduated. Admission to the New York State Bar, either recently admitted or in the immediate process of admission. Preferred Experience Minimal or entry‑level experience in immigration law, legal clinics, or professional legal practice. Bar License requiered for legal representations Genuine interest in immigration law and litigation. Fluency in English; Spanish is highly valued. Strong professional ethics and integrity. Experience with CRM systems, preferably Zoho. Experience with Google Workspace, including Google Drive, and platforms such as Looker Studio. Technical Skills Advanced knowledge of immigration laws and procedures involving USCIS, EOIR, NVC, and DOS. Experience preparing and managing complex immigration matters, including I‑130, I‑485, I‑601A, I‑751, TPS, VAWA, Asylum (defensive and affirmative), U Visa, FOIA, among others. Strong legal documentation, professional writing, and evidence‑analysis skills. Proficiency with CRM systems such as Zoho, Google Workspace, and case‑management platforms. Ability to interpret Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), denial letters, and USCIS Policy Manual guidance. Soft Skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Clear, professional, and empathetic communication. Ability to learn quickly and receive and apply feedback. Strong professional ethics and integrity. Ability to work effectively under supervision and as part of a team. Analytical, solution‑oriented mindset. Success Indicators Case files prepared in accordance with internal checklists with minimal recurring errors. Timely completion of assigned tasks according to each case stage. Reduction in corrections required after case submission. Active participation and measurable progress in internal training and development. Quality and clarity of communication with clients and internal teams. Progressive development toward greater legal independence and autonomy. Benefits and Compensation Salary Range: USD $70,000-$90,000 annually, depending on experience and performance. Work Schedule: Four days per week in‑office days and ONE remote days, according to the assigned schedule. Professional Development: Direct mentorship from the Legal Director.
