Forklift Operator in Fairfield, NJ 1st shift 6am-2:30p at $18.50 per hour Full-time, Benefits, and Weekly Pay Impact Workforce Solutions is hiring for a Full-Time Forklift Operator (Stand-Up) in Fairfield, NJ . We offer: 5 Days of PTO 6 Paid Holidays Up to 50% of health insurance premiums paid by Impact Access to a retirement plan, financial fitness, and employee savings programs GENERAL PURPOSE This position is responsible for safely operating various machining, production, and assembly operations to produce high-quality manufactured parts or assembled production. Also, this position will have the ability to set up or make minor adjustments to various machines. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Correctly setup and operate various machines, follow the production and quality procedures following prints and checking materials for defects, maintain production materials, inspect product to ensure high quality. Able to run various different types of equipment. Perform minor adjustments and daily maintenance to equipment Participate on Continuous Improvement Teams Provide training to other associates Basic or routine troubleshooting Able to operator material handling equipment: (Forklift, Stand Behinds, Trucks) Ability to work with minimal supervision Conduct machine and production changeovers as required Certified to operate various workstations/positions within the facility to meet production needs Inspect measurements and product to ensure quality and accuracy Transport the product to the correct location when completed Update all completed work in the correct system per the schedule Ability to understand and execute verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed Ability to perform and demonstrate all manufacturing procedures after training. Assist with other duties within the department and/or other work stations/departments when necessary Complete clean-up responsibilities and maintain work station according to 5S procedure Demonstrate our five core values of Integrity, Customer Responsiveness, Innovation, Passionate Contribution & Empowerment and Continuous Improvement Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations JOB REQUIREMENTS Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to read, write and speak English fluently Demonstrated ability to use and interpret measurement tools such as tape measure, micrometers and calipers Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, BOM's and associated procedures Ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision Flexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasks Demonstrated mechanical aptitude Basic math skills and problem solving skills Ability to operate some or all of the following types of equipment: Presses, Laser Turret, Welder, Table Saws, Edgers, Paint Sprayers, Mills and other Manufacturing Equipment as needed Ability to identify and communicate basic process improvements Must possess high level of attention to detail Works well in a Team Environment Capability to Train others Ability to work well in a team environment Provide training to other associates The ability to make decisions on imperfect information The ability to multitask and bias towards actions Proven reliability - attendance and punctuality Must understand basic lean principles - 5S, Kanban Ability to use the following hand tools: drills, screw drivers, hammers, etc. Minimum Education and Experience Required: Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Two years of previous experience in operating specific specialized equipment outside of Milestone or two years of demonstrated experience operating a variety of different types of machinery. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for 8 hours/day while making coordinated movements of the hands and fingers to grasp/pinch and manipulate objects.
