Mid-Level Full Stack Developer

Mid-Level Full Stack Developer – Lead I, Software Engineering UST is seeking a talented Mid-Level Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. The candidate will have a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end development, and a passion for building scalable, high‑performing web applications. Responsibilities Develop and maintain robust web applications across the full stack. Create responsive and intuitive user interfaces using Angular.js. Build and maintain scalable and efficient server‑side applications using Python or Java. Utilize Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deploy, manage, and scale applications, leveraging core services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and others. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including designers, product managers, and engineers—to define, design, and ship new features. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment and maintenance; write clean, well‑documented, and testable code, and participate in code reviews. Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to ensure optimal performance. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices to keep our technology stack modern and effective. Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in full‑stack software development. Proven experience developing applications with Angular.js, including knowledge of libraries such as Angular UI Bootstrap, Tailwind, and PrimeNG. Experience with testing frameworks such as Jasmine and/or Karma. Strong proficiency in either Java or Python for back‑end development. For Python, experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask. Experience with Python testing frameworks such as Pytest for unit and integration testing. In‑depth knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, API Gateway) and hands‑on experience deploying applications in a cloud‑native AWS environment. Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB). Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and asynchronous request handling. Proficiency with version control systems, specifically Git. Experience working in an Agile development environment. Desired: familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js; experience with serverless architectures using AWS Lambda; knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools; excellent problem‑solving abilities and a collaborative mindset. Compensation and Location Location: Illinois Compensation Range: $75,000–$113,000 per year Benefits Full‑time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, 6 days of paid sick leave each year (prorated for new hires), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. Employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.
