Registered Nurse – Surgery / Operating Room (OR RN) Compensation: $31 – $46 per Hour Compensation based on years of experience Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join a collaborative Surgical Services team. In this role, you will provide exceptional perioperative nursing care while supporting patients through the surgical experience from pre‑operative preparation through recovery. The OR RN plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and efficient surgical environment by collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and perioperative staff. This position is ideal for both experienced OR nurses and motivated RNs looking to grow within perioperative nursing. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, high‑quality patient care throughout the perioperative process Prepare patients for surgery through assessment, education, and emotional support Assist during surgical procedures while maintaining strict sterile technique and infection prevention standards Monitor patient condition and respond promptly to changes during surgical procedures and recovery Administer medications, IV fluids, and support anesthesia care as directed Anticipate surgeon and surgical team needs to promote efficient workflow and positive surgical outcomes Maintain accurate intraoperative documentation and patient records Ensure operating rooms are properly prepared, stocked, and compliant with safety standards Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical techs, and multidisciplinary teams Provide post‑operative patient and family education regarding recovery and follow‑up care Assist with orientation and mentorship of new OR staff and nursing students as needed Qualifications Education Associate Degree in Nursing required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Experience New graduate and entry‑level nurses encouraged to apply Previous Operating Room, perioperative, or surgical nursing experience preferred Licensure & Certifications Active RN license in Wisconsin and/or Illinois based on assignment location Current BLS and/or CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required (or ability to obtain within 6 weeks of hire) ACLS and PALS certifications preferred (or ability to obtain within designated timeframe) Desired Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and sterile technique Ability to remain calm and focused in fast‑paced surgical environments Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills Strong communication and teamwork abilities within the surgical setting Commitment to patient safety, advocacy, and exceptional surgical care delivery This is a great opportunity to join a supportive surgical team where you can expand your perioperative expertise, work alongside highly skilled clinicians, and make a meaningful impact on patient care every day. #J-18808-Ljbffr i4 Search Group
