Craftsmen Contractors is seeking experienced Sheet Metal/Ductwork Mechanics for the Barstow, Texas area. This is for a 6-month new construction commercial project working day shifts, Monday through Friday, and possibly some weekends. Some overtime will be available.
Sheet Metal Mechanic pay rate: $27/hour
$100/day per diem is offered for those who qualify.
Weekly pay by direct deposit.
Job Duties
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products according to specifications and blueprints.
- Operate machinery such as shears, brakes, and plasma cutters to shape metal components.
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise during the fabrication process and implement effective solutions.
- Utilize an ohmmeter for electrical testing as needed in specific projects.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal/Ductwork Mechanic - 2 years preferred.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
- Commitment to maintaining safety standards in the workplace.
- Complete an online and on-site safety orientation.
