MD500 Utility Pilot - Powerline Construction Job Description The Position Hillsboro Aviation is seeking experienced MD500 series pilots for Utility/Powerline contracts. This is a full-time position with benefit package. Job Responsibilities Flying in the wire environment in support of power line construction, performing external load and other specialized operations:
• Class A Skid/Platform
• Class B Cargo
• Class B Human External Cargo (HEC)
• Class C Side-Pull Adhere to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, company policies, and safety procedures to ensure safe and compliant flight operations. Qualifications/Licenses
• FAA commercial or ATP Helicopter
• Current 2nd or 1st class medical certificate Required Skills/Experience
• 2000 hours as pilot in command (PIC) in helicopters
• 250 hours of vertical reference long line experience
• 100 hours as PIC conducting precision long line operations
• 50 hours PIC in make and model (MD 500 series)
• Strong communication and decision-making skills Preferred Skills/Experience
• Knowledge of the electrical hazards and "hands on" work in the wire environment
• Preferred candidates have additional airframe experience in AS350, B407 and / or B205.
